All American Post

Hand Painted Wall Mural Dedication - October 17, 2010
Painted by; Will Talenti (Mens Auxiliary) with finishing touches by his students.

Mr. Talenti is an art teacher at Progress Village
Middle Magnet School of the Arts. Mr. Will Talenti
donated many, many hours of his      time in
accomplishing this mural. Helping Mr. Talenti with
the finishing touches to the mural is parents Kelly
Anderson and Linda Smith along with Ms. Wood,
Teacher. The students are Korie White 13, Keisey
Rodgers 13, Baily Stites 13, Kylee White 14, Suzanne
Smith 11,   Emily Smith 15, and Roland Beatty 11.

This mural is approximately 8' x 18' and located in our
newly built lanai. Please come out and check it out.
It's a one of a kind.

A big thank you from Ruskin Memorial VFW Post 6287
to the teachers, parents and students of Progress
Village Middle Magnet School   of the Arts for an
outstanding job. Well done.

Memorial Day 2011

Members of the Ruskin Memorial Post 6287
VFW and the community joined together to
pay tribute to Pearl Harbor veterans. The
Ladies Auxiliary Color Guard and the Marine
Corp League, Detachment 1226 also took part
in the ceremony. Also on hand was Lillian
Chow Fortner who was eleven years old and
living in Hawaii at the time and can clearly
remember the tragic events. Lillian made
wreaths which were thrown into the Tampa
Bay waters as part of the tribute.
